A Century of Excellence in Intellectual Property Law
Founded in 1920 by Dr. Panagiotis Theodorides, HP&P is one of Greece’s oldest and most respected Intellectual Property (IP) law firms. From its inception, the firm has specialized in all aspects of IP law, including Patents, Trademarks, Industrial Designs, Copyright, Domain Names, Unfair Competition, Licensing, and related litigation.
Over the past century, HP&P has steadily expanded to become Greece’s largest firm exclusively dedicated to IP law. Dr. Helen Papaconstantinou, who joined the firm in 1965 and became a full partner in 1971, led the firm from 1986, guiding its evolution and growth. In 1996, to enhance its capabilities and service offerings, the firm branched into two distinct entities:
LAW OFFICE DR. P.D. THEODORIDES – DR. H.G. PAPACONSTANTINOU, specializing in Trademarks, Domain Names, Copyright, Customs Monitoring Procedures, and IP litigation.
DR. HELEN G. PAPACONSTANTINOU, JOHN V. FILIAS AND ASSOCIATES, Business Consultants, S.A., focusing on Patents, Industrial Designs, Utility Models, and related consulting.
Recognizing the evolving landscape of IP law, the firm expanded its expertise to include Supplementary Protection Certificates, Plant Breeders’ Rights, Anti-Counterfeiting and Anti-Piracy Law, New Media and Technology Law, Franchising, Commercial and Corporate Services, Internet, E-Commerce, and Domain Names.
In 2015, on the firm’s 95th anniversary, Dr. Helen G. Papaconstantinou led the transition to Dr. Helen G. Papaconstantinou and Partners (HP&P)—unifying the two branches under one dynamic, full-service IP law firm. Following her retirement, her legacy endures through the firm’s unwavering commitment to excellence, carried forward by our highly skilled team of lawyers and professionals.

Timeline
1920
Dr. Panagiotis Theodorides establishes his solo practice in Athens. He is one of the first practitioners in Greece to provide exclusively IP protections services.
1965
Dr. Helen Papaconstantinou joins the firm and becomes a full partner in 1971.
1986
Dr. Helen Papaconstantinou starts heading the firm and successfully leads it to become, over the following years, one of the biggest and most reputed IP law offices in Greece.
1995
The firm celebrates its 75 year anniversary.
1996
The firm evolves into two distinct branches, one maintaining the old firm name LAW OFFICE DR. P.D. THEODORIDES – DR. H.G. PAPACONSTANTINOU and the other under the name DR. HELEN G. PAPACONSTANTINOU, JOHN V. FILIAS AND ASSOCIATES, Business Consultants, S.A.
2015
DR. HELEN G. PAPACONSTANTINOU AND PARTNERS (HP&P) is established, turning a new page in the firm’s history. The managing partner of the law firm is Dr. Helen G. Papaconstantinou and the other four partners are Eva Yazitzoglou, Miranta Theodoridou, Maria Athanassiadou and Fotini Kardiopoulis.
2018
Dr. Helen G. Papaconstantinou retired in 2018 and peacefully passed away in 2022. It is our mission to continue her legacy.
